Although “War Room” is 2 hours of cloying sentimentality, clunky humor, and preachy dialogue, it is projected to dethrone “Straight Outta Compton” at the box office this weekend.

An enjoyable, upbeat and stylish coming-of-age tale that’s “Good Will Hunting” meets “Wall Street” meets iTunes, “We Are Your Friends” is heart-thumping fun, but less compelling than any of those three individually.
