BLU-RAY REVIEW & GIVEAWAY — “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu”
Based on the beloved Pokémon brand, “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” is the first-ever live-action Pokémon adventure. The film, starring Justice Smith (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”) and Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool”), is available now on 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD Special Edition, and Digital. Directed by Rob Letterman (“Goosebumps,” “Monsters Vs. Aliens”), the film follows Tim (Justice Smith) in his search for his missing father, detective Harry Goodman. Tim teams up with and Harry’s former Pokémon partner Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) to untangled the mystery of his father’s disappearance. Chasing clues together on an epic adventure through Ryme City, they uncover a shocking plot that could destroy the whole Pokémon universe.
“POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” also stars Kathryn Newton (“Lady Bird,” TV’s “Big Little Lies,” “Blockers”) as Lucy, a junior reporter following her first big story. The supporting cast includes Suki Waterhouse (“Insurgent,” “Love, Rosie,” “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”), Omar Chaparro (“Overboard,” “Kung Fu Panda”), Chris Geere (TV’s “Modern Family,” TV’s “You’re The Worst,” “Ill Behavior”), multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Rita Ora (TV’s “America’s Next Top Model,” “Fifty Shades Of Grey”), Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai,” “Inception,” “Godzilla”) and Bill Nighy (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” “Love Actually,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”).
